USAFA Baseball head coach Mike Hutcheon recommends that all serious young baseball players in the Colorado Springs area take advantage of the new strength and speed training course, Sports Advantage by Great Starts. His son is in it and so should yours be. PPCBA players get a $5 discount by mentioning that they are in the league, and your whole team can join for just $500 per month. The course was designed and is run by the head coach of USA men's gymnastics and focuses on core strength, range of motion, speed and explosiveness for athletes grades 4-10. Eight meetings per month, Mon-Wed or Tues-Thurs from 7:30-8:45 pm in the Briargate area plus great take-home exercises to make you stronger, quicker, faster and more dangerous. See  www.youthsportsfitness.com for details and to register or call Brad Miller at 488-9370.

The Pikes Peak Competitive Baseball Association, Inc. (PPCBA), is a nonprofit, 501(c) organization started in 1994. Fielding approximately 28 teams in 10- to 14-year-old age groups, the PPCBA schedules typically 20 games per season. The primary league affiliation is with AABC. The PPCBA plays by modified National League rules. The League also sponsors an annual Mother's Day tournament.
